last stand of the 300
the last stand of the 300 was with the greeks and the persions. The persions wanted to get back at the greeks for burning down the city of the persions. the persions were going to march down the monopaly pass to burn down Athens. the greeks had only 300 men whyle the persions had about 300,000 thousand men. the last stand was when the persions had 10,000 men on the back side and about 200,000 on the front side. the greeks did not last long. they held the pass trying to give the alies and the greek goverment time to act. the greeks were evacuated from athens. the persions got to athens and burned it to the ground. later the persions army fell apart so the greeks built a new sacred temple to replace the old.
